Before we teach you one useful thing, we teach you the line.
Do not paste a patient note into a consumer chatbot. Not de-identified-ish. Not just this once. Not because your colleague does it.
Every other AI training you have been offered opened with what the tool can do. We open with what it must never touch — and that is the entire reason you can trust the rest of what we say.
Shift-adapted and recorded. Nobody comes to a 9am class after nights, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise.
Where the charting actually eats you.
You did not go into this to type. And yet the charting, the handoff notes, and the patient-education handouts you rewrite for the fortieth time are eating hours you don’t have and were never the job.
AI is genuinely useful for some of that. It is also, handled carelessly, a patient-privacy incident waiting to happen — and “the AI wrote it” is not an answer your compliance office will want. What your own HIPAA obligations require depends on your role and your employer’s policy; we teach the practice, not the law, and we are not your legal or compliance advisor. So the boundary comes first, in plain language, before we show you a single useful thing.
Then we get practical. Handoff structure. Patient education in plain English — and at a sixth-grade reading level, which is what your patients actually need and almost never get. Documentation that doesn’t take your whole break.
Classes are scheduled around shifts and recorded. That is not a courtesy. It is the difference between healthcare workers being able to attend and not.
Three ways in. The boundary is in all of them.
Individual clinicians usually start with a class. Health systems usually start with an assessment — and they usually arrive because one nurse told them to.
For the person charting at 11pm because the shift ran over again.

We don’t sell AI. We build the capacity AI multiplies.
Most AI advice starts with a tool. We start with the foundation — how clear the process is, how ready the person is, where the real bottleneck sits. Here is what we will never do.
- We won’t recommend a tool we earn a commission on.
- We won’t recommend AI where a simpler fix works.
- We won’t hand you a strategy deck and disappear.
- We won’t help you use AI to mislead a client, a student, or a reader.
- We won’t pretend to have clients we don’t have.
- We won’t put your email into a drip sequence.
- We won’t tell you AI is coming for your job in order to sell you a class about it.
Community classes are $15.
Calm Grind Co. may also designate a community class as complimentary from time to time; those are classes we choose in advance, not seats you ask us for.
The class stays the same.
Every seat gets the same instructor, the same workbook, and the same welcome.
The De-Identification Checklist
A practical starting point for what to keep out of a consumer AI tool. One page. Free. Put it on the unit noticeboard — then check it against your employer’s own policy, which governs.
One email, one PDF. No drip sequence.
Or skip the PDF entirely.
Come to a community class instead. No email, no download, no form — just turn up. We’d honestly rather have you in the room.
