Turn up with a question. That's the whole entry requirement.
Office Hours are free, monthly, and open to anyone — including people who have never taken a class and never intend to.
Our best future instructors are sitting in our current classrooms. The person who stayed late to help their neighbor. The one who explained it better than we did. If that sounds like you, we'd like to talk.
Free. Monthly. No booking. No class required.
Monthly. Online. Next date to be announced. Bring a question — any question, however basic, and especially the one you're embarrassed to ask.

Why Office Hours are free, and always will be
Because the person who needs them most is the person who took a class three months ago, meant to use it, and quietly didn't — and who now feels too embarrassed to come back. Office Hours are free, and we would rather that person walked back in than stayed away for good.
Office Hours are a $0 offer by design — they are how people find their way back in.
We don't pay for your recommendation.
The moment we pay people to recommend us, neither we nor the person hearing it can tell the difference between a recommendation and a transaction. So there's no cash, no finder's fee, and no affiliate link — ever.
What we do instead. Refer someone and they get $10 off their first class. So do you — $10 in Academy credit.
Credit is credit — use it on whatever you like. We will never tell you what to choose.
And the real referral engine isn't a program at all. It's the last thing an instructor says in every single class:
"Somebody in your life is exactly where you were two hours ago. Scared of this, or embarrassed, or told it was cheating and believed it.
Tell them what happened here today.
That's the real homework. That's the one I actually care about."
We select for patience, not expertise.
We can teach AI to a patient person. We cannot teach patience to an expert — and the most knowledgeable person in the room is frequently the worst possible teacher for a beginner, because they can no longer remember not knowing.
We believe instructors should be compensated fairly for excellent teaching. We are not in the business of extracting margin from teachers.
You'll be certified in the Academy Method, observed on a recurring cycle — forever, not just at the start — and held to twelve standards, all of which we'll show you before you agree to anything.
Two of them will tell you what kind of organization this is: you will never touch a learner's keyboard, and you will never say the word "just."
We are especially looking for veterans to teach veterans, retirees to teach retirees, nurses to teach nurses, and teachers to teach teachers. Those rooms can smell a tourist from the doorway — which means the only person who can teach them is one of them.
Libraries, senior centers, churches, VFW posts, schools.
If you have a room and twelve people, get in touch about hosting a community class. Participants normally pay the Community Class price — $15 — unless Calm Grind Co. has designated that particular class complimentary. We bring printed workbooks, spare devices for anyone who needs one, and an instructor who will never make anybody feel stupid.
